Samsung Galaxy M40 with Infinity-O Display, Snapdragon 675 SoC to Launch in India on June 11: Report

Samsung launched three smartphones under its M-series. Now, the company is gearing up to bring another phone dubbed the Galaxy M40. If the reports are to be believed, Samsung is likely to launch the Galaxy M40 on June 11, 2019. Rumors have already started pouring about the device, and the latest one came from the serial leakster, Ishan Agarwal. We also reported earlier today, Samsung is also planning to launch the Galaxy A10s smartphone.

Samsung Galaxy M40 With Snapdragon 675 SoC Without Earpiece and 3.5mm Headphone Jack

The Galaxy M40 will be launched in India on June 11, 2019, in Black, Blue, and Orange color options. It is rumored to come with a 6.3-inch AMOLED screen with an optical In-display fingerprint sensor. A Snapdragon 675 chipset is expected to power the device with 6GB of RAM. A 5,000mAh battery is likely to back the Galaxy M40. On the software front, the Galaxy M40 would ship with Android 9 Pie-based One UI.
A tweet from Ishan Agarwal also reveals that the Galaxy M40 could ditch the earpiece. Instead, the voice would come from the display. For now, it is not clear whether Samsung would use the bone-conduction audio technology like the Xiaomi Mi Mix or it would integrate something like Vivo’s glass-vibrating “screen soundcasting technology,” that replaces the earpiece speaker and enables an all-screen design. Design-wise, Agarwal has tweeted some pictures of the upcoming phone revealing that it follows the same design language as the Samsung Galaxy A60. Not just the earpiece, the Galaxy M40 also ditches the 3.5mm headphone jack, which means that it will come with a Type-C to 3.5mm adapter.
Concerning its expected price in India, the Galaxy M40 might fall under 25K price segment in India. If Samsung ends up launching it under the said price range then the Galaxy M40 will be facing tough competition from phones like Redmi Note 7 Pro (review), Redmi Note 7s, ASUS Zenfone Max Pro M2 that are priced lower and offer better specs.
